The options are endless.

Examples of trips organised earlier this year...

Example 1

Nicola and Sarah, UK, 2009 - 3 months

4 weeks Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary Project
2 weeks Noah's Ark Wildlife Sanctuary Project
6 weeks Zanzibar Rural Teaching & Commumity Project

Amanzi Travel booked all their flights, in association with Flight Centre, starting from London to Johannesburg via Nairobi, then an internal flight to Windhoek in Namibia, where Amanzi Travel arranged for them to be picked up and taken to the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary, their first project. Here they spent 4 weeks volunteering with a wide range of African wildlife, including the beautiful tame cheetah. Amanzi Travel holds a full ATOL licence which means that, when booking through Amanzi, in the unlikely event of its insolvency, the CAA will ensure that you are not stranded abroad, and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to Amanzi Travel for an advance booking. Flight tickets and details are sent well in advance of their trip.

At the end of their time on this project, Amanzi Travel had organised a transfer from this project to the Noah's Ark Wildlife Sanctuary, where they spent a further 2 weeks helping at this unique wildlife orphanage and welfare centre. Amanzi Travel had previously arranged their onward flight to Tanzania, via Kenya, to their third project. However, whilst they were in Namibia, they requested to change their future flights by a week to enable them to have extra time to explore Zanzibar and soak up the local culture and sights, which Amanzi Travel were very happy to sort out.

Amanzi Travel have a fully-operated 24-hour emergency telephone number, in case flights are delayed or there any other emergencies that may require assistance.

Subsequently, Amanzi Travel organised the transfer from the Namibia Project to Windhoek airport, the flights on to Tanzania, and then to be collected at Zanzibar, Tanzania and taken to the stunningly located Rural Teaching and Community Project for a further 6 weeks, to volunteer in local schools and environmental programmes. The final transfer was also organised at the end of this project to Zanzibar airport for their return journey home to the UK.

Example 2

Bridget and Kenneth, USA, 2009 - 1 month

11 days Southern Adventure Overland Trip: Victoria Falls to Johannesburg
2 weeks Field Guide Experience, South Africa

After flying from California to Victoria Falls, Amanzi Travel arranged a pick-up from the airport to the Rest Camp, where their 11 day Southern Adventure started. Here, optional excursions were offered, from water-water rafting, bungee-jumping and helicopter trips to boat cruises and simply relaxing and absorbing the breath-taking Victoria Falls. The following 11 days were spent exploring elephant-filled Chobe National Park, the huge expanse of the tranquil water of Okavango Delta, and on to Kruger National Park, South Africa's largest park which is home to the "Big Five".

Amanzi Travel then organised the booking and payment for the transfer from their final camp on the first trip to Pafuri Camp, in Kruger Park, to commence their 2 week Field Guide Experience. This course gave them a more in-depth bush learning experience and the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of nature and the environment in this fascinating ecosystem.

At the end of the course, Amanzi Travel booked them onto and organised payment for the bush bus to Johannesburg in time for their return flight to the USA. Recommendations for local hotels were also offered, when required.

Example 3

Alice and Sarah, UK, 2009 - 3 months

6 weeks Zanzibar Rural Teaching & Community Project
15 days East African Discoverer Overland Trip: Dar Es Salaam to Victoria Falls
4 weeks Zambia Teaching & Community Development Project

Having flown from London to Zanzibar airport, Amanzi Travel arranged for them to be picked up by one of the project staff and taken to their stunningly-located beach-side accommodation, to volunteer for the next 6 weeks on the Zanzibar Rural Teaching and Community Project. This beautiful palm-fringed local community is badly affected by poverty, lack of education and training and unemployment. By getting involved in local nursery, primary and secondary school education, tourism training schools and environmental programmes, volunteers really feel they make a positive impact on the lives of these people affected by these problems.

At the end of their 6 weeks, Amanzi Travel arranged for Alice and Sarah to be collected and taken on to the particular hotel for the start of their 15 day East African Discoverer overland trip, which would then take them to their next project plus give them the opportunity to see more of this vast spectacular continent. They travelled from Tanzania, through Malawi visiting the peaceful inland freshwater Lake Malawi, and on through Zambia before crossing the mighty Zambezi River finishing in Victoria Falls, where a myriad of optional excursions are on offer.

At the end of their 15 day trip, Amanzi Travel organised for Alice and Sarah to be picked up from a recommended hotel in Victoria Falls, and taken to the border, which they crossed and were picked up on the other side by the project manager of the Zambia Teaching and Community Development Project, where they then volunteered for a further 4 weeks. This project is based in the vibrant town of Livingstone, where in addition to helping in community schools, keeping local children off the streets and helping them to have a more positive future, there is the opportunity to help on various community projects. At the end of their 4 weeks, they flew from Livingstone to Johannesburg, where an additional night was necessary before an early departure to the UK. Again, Amanzi Travel were able to recommend particular hotels which have regular and reliable airport transfers, and provided a booking contact.
