Itinerary
DAY 1: Livingstone (D)
Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders) is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, being 1700 m wide and around 100 m high, and a most memorable sight on any safari. The Falls can be viewed from the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia and the Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe, each offering fantastic photo opportunities. The day is spent taking part in many Optional Excursions and the evening enjoying a sunset dinner cruise on the mighty Zambezi River.
DAY 2: Livingstone (B / D)
Today will allow further opportunities to take part in any optional activities that couldn’t be fitted in on day 1.
OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES: Excursions offered include elephant back safaris, horse riding and a rhino walk. Adrenaline junkies can bungee from the Victoria Falls Bridge connecting Zimbabwe and Zambia or abseil down the Batoka Gorge - not for the faint hearted!. All year round flights in fixed wing, micro light and ultra light aircraft or helicopters give an aerial perspective of this fantastic World Heritage Site. For water sports enthusiasts the white water rafting on the Zambezi is world class, and as well as the excitement of the Grade 5 rapids, there are the “floats” where there is time to admire the scenery and watch the wildlife on the riverbank.
DAY 3: Livingstone to Chobe National Park (Botswana) (B / L / D)
After breakfast the border into Botswana is crossed and the tour will head for Kasane to set up camp on the banks of the Chobe River, which forms a border between Botswana and Namibia and Zambia. The resident hippos may be heard!
DAY 4: Chobe National Park (B / L / D)
This morning begins with an early morning game drive into Chobe National Park, one of Botswana’s best known game parks famous for its large elephant herd. Following the game drive the group will return to camp for lunch and in the late afternoon will take a boat cruise along the Chobe River, hopefully to see elephant, hippo and many bird species including the African Fish Eagle and Pied Kingfisher. A wonderful opportunity to see a glorious African sunset.
Day 5: Chobe National Park to Ngepi Camp (Namibia) (B L / D)
Today the group will travel into Namibia’s Caprivi Strip to a lovely camp site on Kavango River, at the start of the Okavango Delta. This Delta is a huge expanse of water that has travelled from the Angolan highlands to form the largest inland delta in the world. There are many exotic islands and a huge variety of bird life and many animals unique to Southern Africa.
Day 6: Ngepi Camp (B L / D)
An exciting mokoro (traditional dug out canoe) trip is the highlight to-day and after lunch the tour will head to the Bwabwata National Park where hopefully elephant, buffalo, lion and the rare wild dog will be seen. There will also be the opportunity to learn something of the local Tswana culture.
Day 7: Ngepi Camp (B / L / D)
Today will be spent enjoying some of the activities available at the camp - perhaps trying the camp's 'Frisbee Golf Course' - or simply just relaxing on the river bank.
Day 8: Ngepi Camp to Livingstone (B / L / D)
Today the tour must retrace its steps, crossing the Caprivi Strip and travelling through the Chobe area before reaching camp back in Livingstone, where the last evening will be spent enjoying another magnificent sunset over the mighty Zambezi.
Day 9: Livingstone (B)
After breakfast exchange addresses and part ways, having experienced the trip of a lifetime.
The itinerary should be used as a guide only and may vary from day to day depending on road and weather conditions. All prices and local payments are subject to change with prior notice. Due to tourism laws in some countries visited there may be a truck and crew change during the trip.

Orientation
An information pack will be sent upon booking this expedition and our staff are always on hand to offer further advice and information via telephone and email before departure.
Accommodation and Meals
The trips are camping trips, and spacious 2-person tents with sewn in ground sheets and a separate fly sheet are provided. Most nights will be spent in organised campsites which usually have hot water showers and extra facilities such as a bar or swimming pool. Increasingly these places have simple roomed accommodation, so on occasion there will be the choice at extra cost to upgrade to a bed if desired. Occasionally, when it is not possible to drive any further or when there is no local campsite available, it may be necessary to bush camp. The vehicles are completely self-sufficient for this and camping out in the middle of the African bush can be a memorable experience.
The safari cook does all the cooking on the trip, although it may be necessary to participate in the preparation of the meals on a rota basis. Meals and menus vary depending on what is available locally, but three healthy square meals a day on the road will be provided. Fresh fruit and vegetables will be purchased from market stalls, supported by a bulk buy of goods bought prior to departure. In the towns and cities there is the optional alternative of sampling the local restaurants.
Getting There
Flights can be arranged into Livingstone Airport. Please make sure that you arrive in plenty of time for this trip, to allow for flight delays, as the truck will leave early on the day of departure. There may be a number of ways to reach your destination airport – for further information or advice please contact Amanzi Travel.
