General Information

Check-in: Transfer from airport or seaport.
Pre-Departure Meeting: All travellers will be met on arrival at Zanzibar Airport or the port of Stone Town by local representatives and briefed on the itinerary, as well as the many activities available on the island.

Itinerary

DAYS 1 and 2: Stone Town (B day 2)

Upon arrival in Zanzibar tourists will be met by the local representative and transferred to a local guesthouse in Stone Town, which will be the base for the first two days of the trip. The guesthouse is superbly located in the heart of the fascinating Stone Town.

Stone Town is relatively small in size, but is a vibrant town with a fascinating history. Wandering along the narrow alleyways teeming with traders visitors will encounter imposing mosques and crumbling Arabian houses behind studded wooden doors. Stone Town is a hub of activity - from excited school children to veiled ladies in their flowing robes - intoxicating all the senses.

There are several guided activities to be taken from Stone Town - a guided walking tour of the city or a sunset dhow cruise giving perfect photo opportunities from across the water. Alternatively head inland to visit the Colobus monkeys of Jozani Forest or across to the south eastern coast to Kizimkazi to swim with the bottlenose and humpback dolphins. For those wishing to swim or snorkel from Stone Town, one of the nearby islands such as Prison, Uzi or Pungume, might be a preferred option.

DAY 3: Stone Town to Kendwa Beach (B)

Today the group will embark on a spice tour while on the way to the perfect sands of Kendwa Beach on Zanzibar’s north coast - perfect for swimming, snorkelling or scuba diving, or just to simply unwind. En route the tour will pass the Marahubi Palace ruins with a short history given by the guide. A guided walk of the spice plantations will be undertaken where herbs, spices, fruits and other crops will be seen together with the description of their uses and plenty of opportunity for smelling and tasting.

Accommodation for the next two nights will be at Kendwa Beach - one of the best beaches in Zanzibar. Visitors can swim here all day in crystal clear, warm, tropical water (the beach is not affected by low tide) or relax on the beautiful white sand beaches. There is a bar and restaurant right on the beach - a perfect place to enjoy the sunset over the Indian Ocean.

DAY 4: Kendwa Beach (B)

Today is at leisure to enjoy the beautiful beach or sample one of the optional activities available in the area - snorkelling, swimming, fishing or boating or a scuba diving excursion to Mnemba Island and the offshore reefs.

DAY 5: Kendwa Beach to Stone Town (B)

Saying farewell to the beautiful beaches, the guide will transfer the group back to Stone Town and the airport or seaport for the onward journey.

Two nights’ accommodation will be provided in a Stone Town guesthouse and two nights’ accommodation in a Beach Bungalow at Kendwa Beach. Accommodation is based on twin shared rooms. Four breakfasts are included.
